The Sustainable Built Environment Conference in Cardiff will take place on the 24th and 25th September 2019, hosted by Cardiff University and Cynnal Cymru.
The aim of this event is to bring together built environment professionals, policy experts and government officials to focus on the transition of low carbon and energy performance policies into sustainable practice within the built environment. The conference topics will allow delegates to increase their knowledge and skills related to climate change policies and actions, building design, renovation and retrofit issues and the performance of buildings and materials.
The conference themes are:
- Climate change and the built environment
- Resource efficiency at urban and building scale
- Innovation in materials, products and systems
- Zero carbon buildings
- Building energy retrofits
- Methods, tools and certification
- Costs and benefits
- Training and education
- Policies, regulations and standards
A roundtable session will be held on climate change issues in the built environment sector in Wales: current status, trends, possible actions, barriers to action in key sectors and how to overcome these, within the period 2020-23.
