Venue:
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), 1 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong

The World Sustainable Built Environment Conference 2017 (WSBE17), co-organised by the Construction Industry Council and the Hong Kong Green Building Council, will take place from 5 to 7 June 2017 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Themed “Transforming Our Built Environment through Innovation and Integration: Putting Ideas into Action”, Hong Kong has an aggressive target to “innovate” and “integrate”. This SBE16/17 conference series will have an additional focus on small urban scales, meaning for the first time the scope is expanded from standalone buildings to “Sustainable Built Environment”, a more comprehensive perspective to look at issues related to urban areas and the supporting infrastructure.

With an exhibition alongside, this 3-day conference comprises keynotes and roundtables, parallel sessions and special forums. Around 1,800 green building advocates, policy-makers, academics, industry practitioners and students from all over the world will converge, get inspired and motivated from the series of dialogues that will be established, and most importantly – “putting ideas into Action” in order to transform the built environment.

Logo of WSBE 17

A butterfly dancing above the green city skyline symbolises the transformation of sustainable urban built environment around the world. It is developed from Troides Helena, a unique species of butterfly in Hong Kong which is protected by local ordinance. The “2017” in Chinese calligraphy style represents the East-meets-West culture of Hong Kong.
